Harmonization strategies
Two key strategic frameworks are used at the national and regional levels to coordinate and harmonize the production of statistics on the continent
1 - The National Strategy for the Development of Statistics
The National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (NSDS) provides a framework for mainstreaming statistics into national policy and planning processes, mainstreaming sectors into the NSS, and strengthening statistical capacity building and the effective coordination of the NSS.
2 - The Regional Strategy for the Development of Statistics
The Regional Strategy for the Development of Statistics (RSDS) provides a tool for the coordination and harmonization of statistical activities in support of the regional integration process. They focus in particular on the production of comparable statistics in economic domains to monitor macroeconomic convergence.
3 - Continental : SHaSA 2
The Strategy for the Harmonization of Statistics in Africa is a continental strategy for the development of statistics in Africa adopted by African leaders for the period 2017 to 2026.
